I bought this transmitter and I have to say I was very disapointed with it's transmition. I was lucky to get 10 feet with it and when I went a little further the sound quality was very bad. Not fit to listen to.
This transmitter is awful. I bought it as a replacement for a stolen Dynex (Best Buy)transmitter that was absolutely wonderful in terms of portability, ease of use, and range, however, the Dynex is sadly no longer available. The C. Crane works well in my vehicle, but at my workplace, it cannot reliably make the 12 feet unobstructed transmission from my computer output to the FM Stereo radio
The C.Crane FT-007 is the best sounding transmitter I have found,and I have tried dozens of them. The range is as good as any,I get a solid 2 blocks with no problem in the city. The review is bogus,the price is $69.95 not $99.95 and it does have a volume control on the side of the unit.It also has a LED light to set the audio level with. Also not mentioned is the auto off timer that shuts it off after a preset time to save batteries. I own several of these and they run on the supplied wallwart 24/7. Maybe the FMT was an earlier model???
I bought this FM transmitter. Very unhappy with the range. It is terrible it will go about 5m at the very most. Sound quality is not that good either.

You need to crack open the case and do the modification below. Once you turn up the transmitting power, it works great! Check out link below.

Very disappointed with the range of the Crane unit. Barely 10 feet at best. Turned up variable resistor as suggested and found little improvement.
